With fifteen years of dedicated experience teaching piano both in schools and private settings, I have fostered a deep understanding of students across various age groups, from children to teenagers and adults. My educational background from the Normal University in Taiwan has equipped me with a professional approach that resonates with both students and parents alike.
Having worked extensively in junior and high schools, I've honed my expertise in selecting repertoire that goes beyond mere notes and hand movements, emphasizing the artistic essence of music. I draw from a blend of the Russian School Piano Pedagogy and French Classic in Montreal, which emphasizes both score-reading and precise hand positioning for piano playing. This technique, rooted in Chopin's tradition, seamlessly integrates with the music, ensuring that students' technical growth is in harmony with musical expression.
In my teaching philosophy, piano skills and music theory are interwoven. I prioritize piano skills and develop music theory concepts around them, allowing students to grasp the practicality of theory through their piano practice. This approach ensures a holistic understanding of both aspects of music education.
For those seeking to prepare for exams, auditions, or competitions, I am more than willing to provide focused guidance tailored to your needs. It's my pleasure to share my passion for piano with you and to assist in your musical journey.
