I believe it is very important that you enjoy the music you are playing, or want to learn how to play. I encourage students to listen to music and pursue the styles that most interest them.
I believe that it is important to learn theory as well as practicing regularly.
Learning to play music should be a very enjoyable and rewarding experience for all ages.
I have a BA in jazz performance from Laurentian University, and have come to Montreal to continue my studies in music.
2017 Upcoming Artist Award (Jazz Sudbury)
I have alot of experience performing, which I believe to be important for Jazz music. I've played for the Sudbury jazz festival on numerous occasions, as well as venues in Rouyn, Val D'or, New Liskeard, Ottawa and Montreal. I have some experience with other genres of music, playing with different bands from my hometown. To a certain degree I will be able to teach other styles, such as Rock, Country or Blues. I also have two years of experience teaching for the Northern Conservatory Of Music.
