- Music Theory (Beginner-Intermediate)
- RCM - Basic Rudiments
Whether for mere enjoyment, therapy or to pursue a career in the arts, I believe that studying music is fundamental to a persons development. Covering skills and qualities such as discipline, perseverance, creativity and collaborating with others, learning to play an instrument has numerous benefits.
I believe that it is never too late to start learning an instrument. It is also important for the student to truly desire to learn the instrument for themselves and to find it a rewarding experience, therefore my main goal is having uplifting yet productive lessons.
Since the age of four I have been blessed with the opportunity to study music. I started my classical studies with piano for four years, then flute for four years, until I started learning the cello when I was fifteen, and instantly fell in love with the beautiful instrument.
I have gone through the Royal Conservatory exams, but due to a flare up in arthritis, was unable to perform for my grade 8 exam. My cello teacher, Peter Cosbey ( a member of The Annex String Quartet) was classically trained and would also play for the Canadian Opera Company, National Ballet and Toronto Symphony Orchestra.
I am in my last year of University, and completed a year of musical education at the Royal Conservatory through their Chamber music, Theory and History programs.
I was homeschooled growing up and my education greatly revolved around music and art appreciation. Over the last two years I have worked with my twin sister, a Harpist, playing for weddings and events through Chantal Dube http://chantaldube.com/strings/ I had the opportunity to travel with the Jubilance Singers and Orchestra In Armenia in 2015, and recorded CDs with them. I was also able to perform with KYGO in the VELD Music Festival in Toronto in the summer of 2019.
