I strongly believe that anyone at any age can learn an instrument, and enjoy the many benefits of playing music. My youngest student being 8, and my oldest being 73, I have had a lot of different students from a variety of ages and experience levels. It is my goal to make sure that YOU can begin or advance your musical education regardless of age or skill level.
I want to make sure that my students have a well rounded experience with me, while making sure that they achieve their goals. Lessons with me include theory, music appreciation, history, playing (practical), technique, ear-training and occasionally goal setting and self-appreciation.
At times, learning music can be stressful and bring anxiety to the student. I want to make sure that all my students progress the way they want to with the most important element, having fun!

I spend my time as a gigging jazz musician as a bandleader in my piano trio and quartet, as well as an in-demand sideman for various jazz groups as well as rock, pop, funk, mariachi and salsa bands. I also do a lot of composing for jazz ensembles and for film where I am currently working on doing my fourth short film score. One of my biggest passions is teaching, and I often encourage my jazz students to come and watch my gigs to see what we learn in our lessons in action!
