Music is probably the most important part of my life. I picked up my father's electric guitar when I was three years old, and since then fell in love with it. At the age of 5, my grandfather saw how much I loved playing the guitar and decided to buy me my own so my dad could teach me. shortly after being taught the basics, I started listening to old tapes and records and trying to learn the songs by ear. As high school came around, I put myself in every ensemble I could, including jazz ensembles, guitar ensembles and rock bands. Once I turned 16, my teacher asked me to join her jazz band to tour in Spain.
With all these great experiences, music has truly become my favourite hobby and I feel that my passion will be visible to my students. Music is all about having fun with others! Whether you're a child just learning to play, or an adult trying to reconnect with the guitar, you will always feel welcome in my lessons!
I am currently in my 4th year at Carleton University in the Bachelor's of Music program. Throughout my last few years at Carleton, I've had the opportunity to participate in many different ensembles, and play many different styles of music.
My teacher at Carleton was a jazz/fusion guitarist who had tons of touring experience, made many connections within the industry, and led the Carleton Fusion Ensemble.
