Music is the universal language with deep, innate roots that transcend all other forms of communication. I believe that a solid understanding of the physicality of sound coupled with traditional theoretical knowledge creates a genuine, sustainable relationship with the voice or instrument and music as a whole. As my students become more familiar and comfortable with their abilities, we delve into the message or intrinsic passion that the piece may require and focus on portraying that message during performance. I encourage my students of all ages and experience levels to practice as repetition and consistency will always a better musician make. Through fun, positive engagement and kind attention to obstacles, students thrive. Lastly, I listen and adapt to my students needs in the moment.
I believe we learn so much about ourselves and the world through music, whether we are listening, writing, playing and this is mirrored outwards. By teaching, solidifying my knowledge through repetitious translation and helping others, I gain wisdom and grow as a person.

When I was fourteen I began my live-stage career landing a role in "Alice In The Orchestra" where I played Alice and had the delight to play with multiple Orchestras in Parry Sound for the Festival of Sound and the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra to name a few.
At age 23 I taught myself guitar to allow the music inside of me a vessel to find its way out. I now work as a songwriter developing my solo sound, helping other artists paint their visions and am currently hired by Midas King Records to write for two artists in the UK. Last year I released my first solo record, a landmark of hard work and persistence. I work out of my home studio in Whitby, Ontario where I enjoy learning and recording new instruments such as bass, piano, ukelele, harmonica, kalimba and the hanging drum.
I am grateful for the opportunities that have come my way and the pillars of musical knowledge that have driven my journey: Donna Brindle, Gene DiNovi and my parents.

~ From the ages of seven until the age of fifteen I competed rigorously through the Ontario circuit accumulating a stock of vocal awards from the Kiwanis, Davenport, Arts Richmond Hill and Pickering Rotary Music Festivals. ~ I was a member of ACTRA from 1995 - 2007, in my first feature film at the age of 5 and have worked alongside names such as Whoopi Goldberg, Geena Davis, Samuel Jackson, Lindsay Lohan and Levar Burton. Working as an actor helped me understand the depths and complexities of human emotion which I translate to my students when I explain that they can simply sing the music or feel the movement of the music and express themselves within the song. ~ I trained and showed horses competitively for many years and although teaching animals is NOT the same as educating students, there are parallels that can be drawn and take away traits that I incorporate when working with a student. Clear delivery of a message is crucial for the best possible outcome to be reached. Patience and persistence are paramount when overcoming hurdles and obstacles. Trust must be in place when encouragement is necessary to reach an achievement previously thought impossible.
