My teaching approach centers on collaboration with students, honing their skills in the pieces that pique their interest. I'm flexible in both content and approach, customizing my guidance to each student's unique playing style. Alongside repertoire, I provide etudes, scales, and exercises to bolster their abilities. I firmly believe that focusing on lyrical playing enhances technique, while mastering technical passages fosters musicality and lyricism.
My previous clarinet professors include Yehuda Gilad(USC, Colburn), I studied at the Idyllwild Arts Academy, taking lessons at the Colburn conservatory campus. After that I studied with Jose Franch-Ballaster(professor at UBC, international soloist). Currently I am studying with Alain Desgagne(Orchestre symphonique de Montreal) at McGill University Schulich School of Music. When in Vancouver I also studied with Anne-Katherine Coup(Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, Turning point ensemble) who is a specialist in contemporary music.
I have participated in and won scholarships for summer orchestral institutes such as Domaine Forget, Orford Academy of Music, and Interlochen Arts Camp where I was the principal clarinet of the World Youth Symphony Orchestra. At these institutes I have studied with and attended masterclasses of Olli Leppaniemi, Daniel Silver, Anthony McGill, Ecescu Sertesen, and Phillipe Cuper. I also have extensive experience playing in high calibre orchestras working with conductors such as Joanne Falletta(Buffalo Symphony Orchestra), Jung-Ho Pak(Cape Cod Symphony, San Diego Symphony), Christian Marcelaru(Orchestre National de France, Grammy award winner, WDR Sinfonieorchester).
- 2016 winner of the Vancouver Youth Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition(Weber 1st clarinet concerto).
- I was invited to compete on CBC’s Virtuose televised program.
- winner of the Friends of Chamber Music Young Artists Competition(Brahms clarinet trio)
- winner of the Schulich School of Music Lawrence Mysak scholarship for outstanding achievement in woodwinds 2021.
-scholarship recipient at Idyllwild Arts Academy, Interlochen Arts Camp, Domaine Forget, and Orford

I have taken part in several world premieres at McGill university with the contemporary ensemble. I have conducting experience having studied with Prof. Guillaume Bourgogne. Choir experience from being a child in the Vancouver Bach children’s choir, as well as counterpoint knowledge I have written two part inventions, fugues, etc. My mother was a pianist and my father a violist so I also have keyboard skills and viola skills.
