Knowing the joy that music brings, my teaching philosophy is two-fold: making music lessons fun for my students, and teaching them to use their music to bring joy to others! Making lessons fun is achieved through a hands-on method of teaching and game-based learning. Sharing the joys of music is encouraged through recitals, encouragement in participation of local Festivals, and a points-prize system where students earn a point towards a prize every time they perform (as well as earning points in music vocabulary and diligent practice). I hope to inspire my students, the way my teachers have inspired me!
I have my ARCT in Piano (First Class Honours) and accompanying Theory (First Class Honours with Distinction) from the Royal Conservatory of Music. My studies were under private teachers who were classically trained. From these teachers, each with various strengths and their own passion for music, I gained a well-rounded musical education.
