The values I've imbibed infuse passion into every performance, lesson, and coaching I provide. I'm a firm believer that the right teacher can help anyone unlock their highest musical potential. I customize my lessons to cater to each student's individual needs and preferences, aiding them in attaining their distinct goals. Whether it's mastering jazz techniques or preparing for RCM exams, I bring flexibility and a broad range of style knowledge to the table.
I am a Western alumnus
with a BA in musical arts, a diploma in piano performance, and a masters in collaborative piano. I have studied under the tutelage of various renowned pianists and bring that experience to every student I work with. My post-graduate studies include a fellowship with the prestigious chamber ensemble, Magisterra Soloists and I am a co-founder and director of the NPO opera organization, Can of Soup Collective. I am currently an intern-coach and pianist at the Canadian Opera Company's Ensemble Studio.
I have been fortunate enough to have been nominated for Classical Musician of the year at the 2021 London Music Awards.
I have also been a finalist in a Kiwanis Rose Bowl as well as a collaborative pianist to winners of the Kiwanis National and Provincial competitions.
Last summer, I won admission to the Orford 2021 Summer Music Program as well as a scholarship.
As an Asian-Canadian, it was expected that I would enroll into post-secondary studies in a math or science related field. Achieving my ARCT in piano and winning Kiwanis competitions were seen as a hobby more than a step towards a career. I still remember hiding my acceptance letter for a BA of Music. Since then, I promised myself, if I were to pursue music, I would bring my absolute best to every musical experience. Almost a decade later, these values instill passion in every performance, lesson, and coaching I give.
