I believe that music is a tool for creativity, healing, and so much more. My goal is to help students feel confident in their instruments and use them as a way to express themselves. You can expect me to be kind, knowledgeable, fun, and patient as your music teacher. I have had many life-long students and I believe that is because I structure my lessons to each student's needs.
I earned my Bachelor of Music with Honours from Humber College specializing in the Voice. My main teachables are voice, guitar, piano, songwriting and theory.
Aside from being a professional music educator, I am a full-time R&B artist in the music industry. Highlights of my career include performing for President Barack Obama, The Invictus Games, Canadian Week, as well as being awarded Canada's Top Artist for Social Change. I acted, performed, and composed music for Tiff 2021's feature film 'Learn to Swim' with BADBADNOTGOOD and my piece was submitted to the Canadian Screen Awards. My music is produced by Mark Pelli (Chris Brown, Shakira, Trey Songz), I am managed by Nova Music Group, and distributed by AWAL.
My music has been playlisted on Amazon's "The High End" in 15 different countries as well as Spotify's New Music Friday, Mood Ring, Fresh Finds, and more. I am releasing my debut EP Fall 2022.
My original song about mental health called "You Can," awarded me the title of "Top Artist for Social Change in Canada" in 2021. Judges included Tegan and Sara, Director X, the Queen Priyanka, and more.
My original song called "Complicated, which was composed alongside Toronto's renowned band BADBADNOTGOOD for the TIFF's film "Learn to Swim" was submitted to the 2022 Canadian Screen Awards.
I was fortunate to grow up in a musical family. One of my grandfathers was a professional saxophonist who toured with his big band and my other grandfather was a professional jazz guitarist. I am grateful for how my family has always supported my musical journey and my own dreams. I specialize in teaching voice, guitar, piano, songwriting, and theory. Many of my students love taking lessons with me because they can learn how to play more than one instrument at the same time. I also love giving the students the tools they need to write their own songs. My students have gotten into music programs including Berklee, University of Toronto, Humber College, Carlton University, Cawthra Park, Etobicoke School of the Arts, and more. I am confident in prepping my students for performances, exams, and programs.
