The definition of a working musician has changed completely since my days as a student and I have had to re-invent myself and evolve to stay both current and competent in my area of performance. I pride myself on my ability to get back to the basics and work on establishing good practice habits while promoting a healthy and productive learning environment that fosters the growth and evolution of both aspiring and established musicians. My knowledge and experience has made me very versatile. I consider myself to be in essence one of the first of a generation of musical pioneers that had to adapt to the digital world while still adhering to the processes that made me the musician I am today. The musical landscape is constantly evolving but in my experience one thing remains true, good teachers need to do more than just repeat, we need to keep it real and not lose sight of why we started playing in the first place. Every student is unique. Each one presents as a new challenge with unknown potential but in the end its about having fun and realizing a new way a expressing yourself.
I have been a student of the Classical guitar since I was 15 years old and I continue to this day on my quest to improve and become the best guitarist I can be. I studied privately, full time with the late Dr. Eli Kassner, protégé of legendary performer Andres Segovia and founder of the Toronto guitar society for over a decade. in 1992 I was accepted into the University of Toronto Music program as a guitarist where I planned on continuing my studies but I was offered a very appealing position in the Susan Aglukark band and opted to earn some laurels touring and experiencing life on the road. I still studied during those years with Dr. Kassner but I never found myself in a position to re-apply to the University and ultimately became a working session guitarist. I played on quite a few albums in the 90's most notably former "I Mother Earth" singer Edwins Ghazal's solo album "Another Spin Around the Sun" and Celine Dion's "A New Day" both of which won many awards in Canada and across the world.

I am a digital musician. I have 20+ years of professional experience scoring music for TV shows and writing music for advertising. I am my own writer, arranger, orchestrator, performer, recording engineer, producer, mix engineer, mastering engineer, computer technician and delivery person! But I want to get back to the basics and share what it means to me to be a guitarist.
