Music has been the most prominent reoccurring theme throughout my life so far. I first fell in love with music playing songs around campfires. As I grew more passionate about my instruments and pursued an education in music, I discovered the satisfaction that comes with practice and developed an appreciation for the consistency music brings to my life. My teaching philosophy takes a passion-based approach and focuses on exploring and fostering students musical interests. As a young musician, I know how important it is to keep things interesting for a kid learning a new instrument. I believe that by harnessing a students initial interest in music I can open the door to a more technical approach.
I have a diploma in Jazz Performance from Humber College, specializing in vocals. I have been singing and playing guitar since the age of 10. As a camp counsellor I spent four summers working with children where I taught guitar, vocals and drums on a daily basis.
Aside from playing music, I am also passionate about the live sound industry, recording, and producing music. I have a wide breadth of knowledge concerning studios, and recording. I am an avid songwriter and have released various singles over the past few years. I have also taken 3 years of private drum lessons and 2 years of private voice lessons.
