My love for teaching music stems from its power to connect us with the sublime and enhance our humanity through positive energy. I believe in adapting my teaching approach to each student's unique needs and objectives. Customized lesson plans are my forte, focusing on strengths, interests, and educational goals. My main objective is helping students reach their musical aspirations while ensuring enjoyable lessons filled with the sheer joy of playing music. I teach songs and related techniques, complemented by relevant music theory, to provide a comprehensive music education.
I started studying guitar when I was 4 year-old. My father was my first teacher. Then I took music lessons at school.
At 13, I started learning electric guitar with a private mentor at home who taught me six hours per week. I really wanted to play music!
Then when I was 16, I wanted to learn more about harmony and composition so I began studying piano formally which made me get a degree in classical piano from a conservatory in Venezuela (Academia Nacional de Música Juan Manuel Olivares).
Between 2005-2008, I was lucky to study Jazz, along the professor Gerry Weil, who trained many professional musicians from Venezuela and also took jazz lessons for a year with Dave Frank (New York based professor) between 2017- 2018.
When I was a kid I used to spent hours with my dad playing guitar. He was my first teacher. His lessons were so fun that I knew right away that all I wanted to do in my life was to play music. I have kept that fun and energy all my life when I play and approach music and try to transmit that as teacher and professional musician. As music performer, I have played in different music festivals in Venezuela and Canada, worked as session musician for many years and covered different styles ranging from classical music to pop, rock and jazz.
