Music education is a cornerstone of personal growth, and I've been shaped by it significantly. My joy comes from nurturing students' confidence and identity through the magic of performance.
I recognize the individuality of each student and their diverse learning paths. Not everyone has the same opportunities or learns in the same way, so I'm committed to meeting students right where they are. My goal is to cultivate a profound love for music by customizing lessons to each students’ unique needs.
I am currently enrolled in the Bachelors of Music program at the University of Calgary where I study flute performance with my teacher, Lucie Jones.
I have been studying music since the age of 5, first starting with private piano lessons. After 13 years of piano, I decided to stop lessons in order to focus solely on the flute.
I have now been playing the flute for 11 years, and I have taken part in many music programs. I am currently part of the Academy Program for Young Artists at the Mount Royal Conservatory, and have previously been a part of the Conservatory’s Advanced Performance Program as well as the Calgary Youth Orchestra.
I have also completed my grade 10 Royal Conservatory of Music exam, receiving the "honours" rating.
I started playing the flute in grade 6 as part of my school's band program, and I immediately fell in love with ensemble playing. My love for making music grew even deeper in high school, where I discovered that I absolutely love performing - especially when I am on stage with other people. I adore the bond that musicians gain by performing together, and the connections we develop with the audience as a result of our work.
