- Ear Training
I have always been surrounded by the environment that you need to be competitive as a musician. You need to be able to compete with others around you as well as compete with yourself to be better.
I agree with this to an extent, but not at the risk of your body. I learned a couple of years ago that playing an instrument, or doing any activity, with wrong playing habits can incur playing-related injuries. I have strived to introduce more health and wellness into my teaching and playing and being a more mindful musician. I will strive to have a stress-free environment in my lessons to promote healthy practices and create a fun environment.

In the last year, Carlos presented his working paper on musicians’ health resources in Canada at two major international conferences and is looking to publish this year.
Other than saxophone and clarinet, I have worked extensively as a DJ in varying styles of music. This has allowed me to gain an appreciation for the style of mixing music and incorporating different styles and elements in prolonged sets of music.
