Confidence in your art is cultivated through a combination of love, consistency, strong support from both parents and teachers, and a solid foundation in music education. In my teaching approach, I prioritize harmonizing all these elements in a delicate balance. Your input and ideas are always welcome, and I aim to foster your creativity above all else. Many of my students have embraced their creative spirit and composed their own songs, solo piano pieces, and even cinematic music, showcasing their talents at local festivals.
In my class, I am committed to developing your skills comprehensively, whether it's refining your technique, honing your musicianship, improving your ear training and sight-reading abilities, or deepening your theoretical understanding. Each aspect is taught with care and tailored to your unique aspirations. While participation in Royal Conservatory of Music exams, local festivals, and recitals is encouraged, the choice remains entirely yours. It brings me joy to see that most of my students willingly take on these opportunities and excel in their exams, festivals, and recitals.
As a piano and theory teacher, my ultimate goal is to inspire and mentor you, giving utmost attention to your individual objectives. Together, we will build your confidence and instill a lifelong love for music and the arts. Your musical journey is important to me, and I am dedicated to guiding you towards success and fulfillment.
I take great pride in holding the prestigious Royal Conservatory of Music Teacher certification, which covers a broad range of subjects, including Piano (Elementary, Intermediate, and Advanced) and Theory (Elementary, Intermediate, and Advanced – Harmony and History). Furthermore, I completed a comprehensive five-year Piano Pedagogy Diploma at the esteemed National School of Fine Art, Music, and Dance "Dobrin Petkov" in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
Throughout my musical journey, I have been fortunate to be guided by exceptional teachers, and I maintain close connections with them to this day. Among the inspiring mentors who have influenced me are Prof. Dimo Dimov and Prof. Ninowska Fernandez-Brito, both accomplished piano teachers and performers.
My passion for music led me on a transformative four-year study of piano and theoretical subjects at the Escuela Nacional de Musica de la Havana, Cuba. Immersed in the rich musical heritage and artistic culture of Cuba, I discovered the enchanting works of renowned Cuban composers like Ernesto Lecuona, Alejandro Garcia Caturla, and Enrique Guerrero, which I enjoyed playing with great delight.
In my classes, I am thrilled to offer my students a diverse musical experience. They not only have the chance to explore the captivating compositions of these Cuban masters but can also delve into the realms of pop, jazz, movie, and game themes that resonate with their personal preferences. My ultimate goal is to create a warm and inviting learning environment where each student can joyfully express their musical talents and embark on a fulfilling musical journey.
Throughout my musical journey, I have had the incredible honor of being a soloist with the esteemed Plovdiv Symphony Orchestra in Bulgaria and have performed in over 14 solo recitals. My passion for chamber music was further nurtured under the guidance of my Dad, a highly respected flute and chamber music professor for 35 years. Together, we participated in various Youth Festivals and concerts across Poland, the Czech Republic, Russia, and Cuba. As an accompanist, I had the pleasure of collaborating with several children and adult choirs, benefiting from the wisdom and expertise of my Mom, who served as a dedicated choir director for 15 years. The joy of music has also led me to become the accompanist for ballet classes in various dance schools in Vancouver. Over the past two decades, my dedication to music has extended to teaching students of all ages. It brings me immense joy to nurture the musical talents of students ranging from as young as 4 years old to adults and even those in their Golden age. Many of my students have pursued music in their post-secondary studies, and witnessing their growth and accomplishments is truly rewarding. As a teacher, I strive to create a supportive and inspiring learning environment, where every student can thrive and cultivate a lifelong love for music.
