I believe that every student is unique, and my role as a teacher is to nurture their individuality while guiding them on their musical journey. My approach involves teaching them how to become independent learners and fostering their curiosity about music. Ultimately, I aim for my students to discover their own artistic voices and excel as musicians. My teaching philosophy is influenced by my own piano training under world-renowned pianists, various music pedagogies, and my research into teaching theories.
I am a full-scholarship recipient in the Master in Music(interpretation) program at Université de Montréal and currently studying with Profs. Jean Saulnier and Charles Richard-Hamelin.
I received a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) in Music (Performance Concentration) from Hong Kong Baptist University with First-class honors in 2020, where I studied piano with Dr. Cherry Chit-Lai Tsang and Dr. Yoonie Han; I also studied harpsichord with Prof. David YS Chung.
My accomplishments include First prize in the Asia Pacific Outstanding Youth Piano Competition, Hong Kong Golden Bauhinia Youth Piano International Competition, Singapore Zhongsin International Music Competition, Hong Kong International Youth Performance Arts Festival, and Purcell International Competition for Young Pianists; Second prize in Hong Kong Open Music Competition and Fifth prize in Hong Kong International Music Competition. I am also a scholarship recipient of the Denise Angers Fund Scholarship and the Hong Kong Scholarship for Excellence Scheme in 2021, the HKSAR Government Talent Development Scholarship in 2019, and HKBU Music’s Honour Roll: Honour Students Recital Awards.
I am an artist-in-residence in Porto Pianofest 2022. I have also been selected as one of the active participants in Gijón International Piano Festival, International Keyboard Festival (IKIF) in New York and Music Fest Perugia in Italy. I have performed in master classes with Barry Snyder, Boaz Sharon, Daniel Epstein, Eric Fung, Eleanor Wong, Jura Margulis, Leslie Howard, Massimiliano Ferrati, Massimo Folliero, Michael Shinn, Natalia Trull, Slawomir Dobrzanski and many other world-renowned pianists and pedagogues.
