To me, music is not merely a hobby or a profession; it is a way of life, a second language that brings joy and meaning. I firmly believe that anyone who has a desire to learn music should seamlessly integrate it into their life. Music should be an exciting journey, a practice that you genuinely enjoy and eagerly invest time in. As your teacher, my mission is to ignite that passion within you and make music an integral part of your life, something you eagerly embrace and look forward to. Together, we will create a musical experience that resonates with your soul and brings out the best in you.
Currently in my first year of music education at Capilano University, I am fortunate to have studied under the guidance of esteemed teachers like Julie Begg, James Danderfer, and David Bradshaw. My musical journey has exposed me to multiple instruments, with a focus on woodwinds and percussion. As a versatile musician, I am equally at ease teaching in classical and jazz styles, as well as their various sub-genres.
With a background in high school choir, I am also equipped to assist with singing and can explain a wide range of musical concepts. My passion for music and dedication to education drive me to provide my students with an engaging and enriching learning experience. I look forward to sharing my knowledge and helping my students explore and express their musical talents to the fullest.
Throughout my life, I have been fortunate to learn from exceptional mentors, honing my skills as a teacher. My experiences have exposed me to diverse individuals, enriching my understanding of different learning styles and needs. In addition to teaching, I actively perform across metro Vancouver, providing my students with the opportunity to witness me in action. I believe that witnessing a teacher's passion and talent in live performances can be incredibly inspiring for students. As an educator and performer, I aim to create a dynamic and engaging learning environment where my students can thrive. If you're curious to see me in action, I warmly invite you to attend one of my gigs in Vancouver!
