For me, the key to effective piano teaching is truly understanding the student and their unique learning style. I tailor my approach to meet their individual needs, ensuring a personalized and engaging learning experience.
Building a solid foundation is crucial, and I like to make learning fun and interactive through games, activities, and various tools. This approach not only strengthens their basics but also keeps them excited about the journey.
One of my main goals is to instill perseverance and a positive mindset in my students, vital qualities for success in music and beyond. I want them to develop a deep love and connection with the music they play, making their musical journey fulfilling and enriching.
I strongly believe that music education knows no age boundaries, and I am passionate about teaching students of all ages and backgrounds. Whether a beginner or an experienced player, I am open and enthusiastic about guiding them on their musical path.
I began my musical journey with piano group lessons at the young age of 4, eventually transitioning to private lessons at 8. Music has been a lifelong passion for me, and I found immense joy in ensemble performances, especially while playing in our high school band and accompanying the choir. Alongside piano, I also play the flute, guitar, and enjoy singing.
My dedication to music led me to graduate with a Music Diploma from Capilano University and later receive a Bachelors of Music from UBC. Throughout my studies, I had the privilege of training under talented instructors like David McCoy and Patricia Hoy, which allowed me to graduate with Distinctions from both universities. My musical journey has been incredibly rewarding, and I'm eager to share my love for music with others.

Having grown up immersed in music and exploring various instruments, I find the utmost joy in passing on that passion to my students. Apart from my teaching endeavors, I've been actively involved in music competitions, securing several scholarships, and have had the privilege of performing and accompanying at local music festivals and friends' weddings. To continually enhance my teaching abilities, I am currently pursuing RCM certification in pedagogy, with a strong desire to refine my skills and offer the best possible musical education to my students. Music has been an integral part of my life, and I'm dedicated to inspiring others on their musical journey and sharing the joy it brings.
