Music is a living, ever-evolving being in our world. I believe it is our job as musicians to preserve the history, culture, and beauty of music while maintaining the innovative nature of it. Even after graduating with my bachelors, it made me realize how experimental music can be whether it is operatic, or hard rock.
I can create a schedule and vocal process that benefits both mind and body for the student. "We do not perform to impress, we sing to inspire."(Dr. Tesfa W.) Our job as musicians is to always ask questions about all aspects of a piece of music. Never be afraid to ask questions, they help students gain the knowledge they need for success.
All of my lessons begin with physical and light vocal warm-ups to help develop the human instrument. I will help provide vocal repertoire depending on the student's voice. All students can expect the same respect and support. My job is to create an intimate, comfortable space for the student, and make magic happen.
I graduated with honors from The Boston Conservatory in Massachusetts, USA. There I studied my Bachelors of Music in voice performance with opera emphasis. I studied all aspects of music including music history, harmony, ear training, alexander technique, stylistic approaches to operatic singing, and diction. My voice instructor at the conservatory was Professor Frank Kelley. I have performed at John Adams in Adolphus Hailstorks "Crispus Attucks" at Boston Symphony Hall. In addition to my first solo debut, I have performed alongside Maestro Arnie Roth in Final Fantasy Distant Worlds concert. I have performed with both Lowell House Opera and Boston Opera Collaborative.
I have performed with 50's style doowop groups at Berklee, and also produce electronic music.
