As a Music educator, my role is to provide my students with knowledge and information in music. It is for them to appreciate while actively participating, listening, and engaging in making music. The accomplishments of my past and future students motivate me to keep going and pursue teaching Music. Having the knowledge and being able to understand technique will never be enough because I aspire for my students to also go beyond the facts and techniques and focus on their musicianship by acknowledging their expressions and giving life to their playing. Through music, these high-functioning students will have marketable skills: creativity, discipline, and flexibility, that will help enhance their musicianship inside and outside the school premises. I aim for my students to never be motivated by instant relevance and by ready-made concepts. May the students aim for divergent thinking and intensive engagement in studying and understanding music.
I have attended and finished my Bachelor's Degree in Music Education with an emphasis in Clarinet under the Conservatory of Music department at the University of Santo Tomas, Philippines.
I started playing the clarinet when I was a 5th grader and eventually learned how to play the saxophone as well. My clarinet teacher holds a Masteral Degree from the Elisabeth University of Music in Hiroshima, Japan and he is also the current principal clarinetist of the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra.
I have spent my childhood attending Summer Music Camps yearly, joining Marching and Community bands, and watching different band and orchestral concerts. I have also had the opportunity to perform outside the Philippines (ex. China, Singapore, USA, and Taiwan).
