My teaching style is inspired by the instruction I received at top conservatories like Peabody, Oberlin, and McGill. Students thrive when they are feeling comfortable, and confident-- so I believe strongly in nurturing my students with kindness and exploring teaching methods that work best for each individual student. Music instruction is not a 'one size fits all' kind of deal, and this is why I am passionate about finding which educational avenue works best for each of my students.
I have attended the following schools earning the following degrees:
-McGill University- Graduate Diploma (Doctor of Music in progress)
-Oberlin Conservatory-Master of Music
-Peabody Institute-Bachelor of Music
My principal teachers included Alison Wells, Amit Peled, and Susie Napper
Aside from performing on cello and baroque cello in ensembles around Montreal, I am also a composer and educator. I have been invited to give lectures and masterclasses at several universities in Canada and the USA. When I lived in the USA, I taught a baroque improvisation course of the summer at Cornish College of the Arts. I also love exploring other genres-- and since moving to Montreal I have been consistently collaborating with Canadian singer/songwriter Daniel Lavoie.
