In my approach, I address piano technical aspects, practicing strategies, body-mind awareness, critical thinking, attentive listening, performance skills, and, most importantly, we investigate together the student’s inner intention towards art. The piano can also be a way to develop self-awareness and discover the unique creative self, supporting people to find their place in the community. I believe there can be a genuine and powerful expression in every flaw and vulnerability. My mission is to assist the students to reveal it.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance from Sao Paulo State University (UNESP, Brazil) and a master’s degree in Piano Performance from Central Michigan University (CMU, USA). Most recently, I worked as a Piano Teacher at the Community Music School of CMU and as a Graduate Instructor at the University of Michigan. But it is since 2007 that I have been privately tutoring pianists and singers through their musical path. Aside from that, I had the privilege of being a private student of Daniel Matos for eight years. Professor Matos is a Brazilian pianist and researcher of somatic education in music teaching. His particular approach gave me numerous benefits and pedagogical tools. In my studio, I value offering instructions adapted to their individual needs.
I won several prizes in piano competitions such as: Profa Hebe Hermeto VIllaça-I prize; Prof. Cidinha Pio- II prize; Profa
Marina Filardi -II prize, and "VII Concurso de Música Brasileira -Spartacco Rossi”-I prize.
I also have served as the guest pianist of the Young Euro Classic-Ensemble Year of
Germany in Brazil-Tour, and “Young Euro Classic Music-Dance and Bundesjugendballett.”As a
pianist of the Young Orchestra of Sao Paulo State, I had the privilege to perform
internationally in concert halls such as The John F. Kennedy Center (Washington, USA), Alice
Tully Hall (NYC, USA), Muziekgebouw (Amsterdam, Holland), Sala São Paulo (São Paulo,
Brazil), and Konzerthaus (Berlin, Germany).
I also have considerable experience as a collaborative pianist, which has a broad impact on how I approach music and partnership. To enhance my skills as such, I am currently pursuing a Specialist Program in Piano Accompaniment under the guidance of Prof. Francis Perron at the University of Montreal.
