One of the first questions that I like to ask my students is "Why do you think that people play music?". It helps me to understand their mentality for wanting to take lessons and play music, and I have received a variety of different answers over the years. It is important for me to know what a student wants to get from a lesson and that we have specific goals to work towards and also to keep our perspective on the bigger picture. Time is the only thing that we have to trade in this world, and I believe that the amount of time that anyone spends practicing and enjoying their instrument, the better they will become at playing it.
In the words of one of my idols, Paul Gilbert, the secret to becoming a very good guitar player is to believe that playing guitar is the most fun thing to do in the world.
I fell in love with guitar at an early age and began a journey to learn as much as I possibly could about the instrument along with songwriting, singing and recording. I took that knowledge with me to the Humber College Music program but opted to complete a BBA Arts & Science degree.
Master of the Shred 2019 - 2021
During the month of July, I work as a camp councillor for a Czech Summer Camp. With a staff of other councillors, we are responsible for taking care of children between the ages of 8 to 16. As a result, I have a lot of experience with teaching music to children. I have a lot of experience with extended range guitars and I am able to teach people how to play 7-string and 8-string guitars. I usually play extended range guitars in my musical projects, so I am able to give lessons on the following musical styles: Djent, Thall, Death Metal, Groove Metal, Deathcore, Metalcore, Progressive Metal, Mathcore, and Black Metal. Since I've been recording and releasing music from my home studio for many years, I can give you advice on how to achieve an effective home studio setup of your own! I would be happy to give you the rundown about what kind of equipment you'd need to get started, how to use it, and how to achieve high-quality recordings for the best price.
