I believe in the importance of singing for joy. Never lose sight of the joy! When you walk into my lessons, I don’t just want my students to learn. I want them to look forward to them, let loose, and have some fun! I believe in using music as a way to improve self-confidence and self-esteem and as a creative outlet for self-expression and one’s identity. I believe in teaching healthy vocal techniques so that my students can enjoy their love of singing for the rest of their life! As singers, our voices are our personal instruments, so we must do whatever we can to take care of them, and I can show you how, both at our lessons and in your practice at home!
I believe that singers are special because we can step into the shoes of any character or person we want and tell a story for you or others to enjoy. Singers were some of the original storytellers. We have unique gifts just waiting to be shared, and I love helping my students delve into character work, acting, and exploring what their songs and character mean to them! I believe in the importance of not just being a teacher to my students, but also a friend, a shoulder to cry on, and a cheerleader when they need it most. I believe anyone can sing and play music, and the arts are for everyone.
I am a first-year Master of Music Therapy Student at Wilfrid Laurier University. I am originally from St. John’s Newfoundland, and I completed my Bachelor of Music with Honours in Voice at Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador in 2021. At Memorial, I was taught under the direction of voice teacher and performer Dr. Jane Leibel, and have also worked with educators and performers such as Dr. Caroline Schiller in her Opera Workshop program, and was briefly taught by Shelley Neville.
Growing up, I was taught for over ten years by Ronalda Hutton MacDonald, a performer, teacher, and Musical Director of Peter MacDonald Productions in St.John's Newfoundland.

I am a classically trained soprano, but I love music of all kinds, including Musical Theatre, choral/acapella music, folk, rock, and more. Musical Theatre is my personal favourite genre of music to sing and teach. I have had lead and chorus roles in many musical theatrical productions such as High School Musical, 9 to 5, Hairspray, Scrooge, I have sung in masterclasses with Broadway performers such as Chirsty Altomare, and have competed in music festivals in the Musical Theatre Category locally, provincially, and nationally. While voice is my main instrument, I also play the piano, flute, and guitar, which I often use to accompany students, or clients in my music therapy work.
