I made the choice to pursue a career in music because I love it. I have heard too many stories about my friends in the industry hating music because of a teacher they had who drilled them on rudiments and posture, and made them give up playing. Teaching should be the passage of knowledge and passion to those who seek it out. My goal as a teacher is to make performing music fun, enjoyable and also to share that feeling of wonder when the fundamentals behind how music works are understood.
I am currently in my third year studying in the Singer/Songwriter program at Carleton. I play many different instruments including singing, guitar, trumpet, and piano.
My focuses are in songwriting and playing, but I am also able to help with theory and technique.
I graduated High School in National Honors Society, and Music Honor's Society in 3 years, and I am on the Dean's List in University.
I work as an audio technician, and I have an extensive background as a performer in Theater. My background in theater allows to help younger students, classmates, and friends create enjoyable memories in music, no matter their skill level.
