Like the majority of Canadians, I attended public school. However, I know from personal experience that teaching more than thirty students at once can make it challenging for teachers to ensure that each student understands the material at the same level. That's why I'm excited to offer one-on-one music lessons that are tailored to your specific needs as an aspiring musician.
When you learn with me, I will be able to quickly identify when you are heading down the wrong path and guide you back on track. This personalized approach is essential to prevent you from developing incorrect fundamental skills that could lead to bigger problems down the road. As a mentor, I want you to have the freedom to express yourself fully, without any barriers holding you back.
I know from experience that an outside perspective is crucial when learning something new. As your teacher, I will be your musical "auto-correct," reflecting exactly what I see and helping you refine your skills. I will also hold you accountable by setting goals with you and tracking your progress like a dedicated gym coach.
So, if you're ready to take your music skills to the next level, let's get started! I'm excited to make music with you and help you reach your full potential as a musician.
Since Grade 8, I have had a passion for playing the saxophone. I pursued this passion by earning a Bachelor of Music degree in saxophone performance from the University of Calgary.
To continue honing my skills and pursuing excellence, I recently underwent further saxophone training at the University of British Columbia. This experience has been invaluable and has deepened my appreciation for the beauty and versatility of the saxophone.
During my time at the university, I also learned to play the clarinet and flute, which have expanded my musical horizons and enhanced my performance skills. As a saxophonist, I am committed to sharing my passion and knowledge with others and helping them discover the joys of playing this remarkable instrument.
