Music is fundamental to my being, and I believe that it is integral to the education of any person. We all have rhythm and sound as a core part of our body, from the heartbeat to the sound of breath, and formal training in music is only an expansion of what already exists in every person. The body of a musician requires as much detailed physical analysis and focus as that of an elite athlete; all of my lessons begin with physical warm-ups to support the specific musculature required in the development of each instrument.
I am currently the Principal Oboe of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra. I landed this position right after my graduation where I received my Bachelor of Music at the world renowned school, Curtis Institute of Music where I studied with the Principal Oboe of the Philadelphia Orchestra, Richard Woodhams.
Prior to studying at Curtis, I have studied with Principal Oboe of Toronto Symphony Orchestra and Principal oboe of the National Ballet/ Canadian Opera Company in Toronto.
I have frequently performed both as Principal oboe and sectional player with the world renowned orchestras in North America- Philadelphia Orchestra, Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Pittsburgh Symphony, National Arts Center Orchestra.
