I teach music to make people grow, no matter their skills or their age. As long as they enjoy themselves playing, I would feel that they are making progress. The most important part of my teaching philosophy is that everyone can make music. I plan my classes and teach according to each person's needs.
I am about to start my Musicology Master's degree at McGill. Back in Mexico, I studied Music Education and Ethnomusicology at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), where I also got a Diploma in Music Philosophy and took many courses in Suzuki, Dalcroze and Kodaly methods. I have taught music for almost 20 years from preschoolers to seniors in formal and informal environments. I have worked in schools such as Colegio Cedros, Universidad Panamericana, and the Continuing Studies departments of UNAM and Capilano University, and I have also taught in-home piano lessons during these years.
