I believe in the popular belief that music enriches lives and helps to give students a well-rounded background. Learning an instrument encourages creativity, discipline, dedication, concentration, and most importantly fun!
I work together with the student (and their parents, if applicable) to achieve their personal goals. I have prepared students successfully for RCM exams and youth orchestra auditions, and I have also helped students prepare pop songs for their school talent shows. I tailor my teaching style and curriculum to each individual student.
In most cases, I like to teach my students a classical technical foundation. Even if you're interested in playing fiddle or pop music, a classical foundation will give you the skills to play whatever you want! I place a lot of emphasis on reading music as well for the same reasons. My aim is to teach my students to be independent so that they can enjoy violin to the fullest.
I have a Bachelor's and Master's degree in violin performance from the University of Southern California. I studied with the concertmaster and associate concertmaster of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and have extensive background in studying and performing classical music. I have performed in Canada, USA, France, and Japan.

I started playing violin when I was three years old, and music has been a huge part of my life ever since. I have experience performing in both formal and informal settings, and while my background is in classical music, I am equally comfortable playing and teaching a wide range of musical styles. I enjoy teaching students of all ages and hope to continue sharing a love of music with all my students!
