We all have gifts within ourselves and it is through the right guidance that those gifts can flourish. I love music and I love teaching what I have learned from my previous teachers through all the years that I studied. I have almost 30 years of experience teaching RCM level grade 1 -9 with great success. I have seen students struggle because they had not been shown the right technique, I have fixed so many bad habits that people learned not knowing it is essential to get a good technique, certainly with an instrument as hard as the violin. But most of all, I love music and I never stop encouraging my students to get better and go beyond themselves to become better musicians and better persons on all levels.
In my teaching method, I break down the technique of the violin, music reading or interpretation into very simple tasks that the student must carry out in order to master them one by one. In this way, the student quickly gains confidence in himself and thanks to the immediate progresses he makes, he will feel the essence of the rhythm, the composition, his own interpretation, the quality of his sound, and value himself as a musician.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Violin Performance from the New England Conservatory in Boston, MA, USA where I also studied voice, conducting, pedagogy and education. I also earned a First Price Solfège Diploma with Distinction from Brussels Royal Conservatory of Music. I have a Golden Medal with Distinction from Toulon Provence Mediteranean Conservatory of Music, France. I studied violin privately from the age of 8 in southern France with different teachers amongst them the famous concert artist/teacher Jean Termerguerian from the Marseilles National Conservatory of music. At age 17, I went to Belgium to continue my violin studies with Henri Rodales until I applied for my post secondary studies at New England Conservatory of Music. At NEC, I studied under the guidance of Eric Rosenblith. My teachers were classically trained and detail oriented with exceptional high standards. I learned with them good technique and the love for music and how to communicate it to students.

My students are always chosen to play in showcases for Festivals
My student orchestra The East Kootenay Ensemble has been selected at least 5 years in a row to perform at the Showcase of the East Kootenay Performing Arts Festival in Cranbrook, BC.
My first teacher was very passionate about the violin and very dedicated to making sure I was learning the good technique I needed to become a good musician. He used to write every single exercise I had to master in a book and I would diligently follow his advices. I quickly progressed through the classical repertoire and thanks to him and all other guidances I had later, I developed a teaching method that is unique and very effective. I not only teach students good technique but I try to communicate the love for music I have and the love for good sound, right pitch and beauty in general. I have also sung in many choirs and this has helped me in my teaching experience to transmit to students and make them feel the essence of music and interpretation of musical phrases.
