In my lessons, I make sure all my students learn to play their instruments easily and without any strain. I believe that playing music should be a fun and lifelong journey. That's why I teach the idea of "effortless effort," which helps with better control, musicianship, and most importantly, enjoyment! For my younger students, I pick songs that match their skills and keep an eye out for any areas they might need to work on. With my more experienced students, I help them play music that builds on what they already know, so they're always learning something new. My goal is for every student to feel like they've achieved or learned something new in every lesson.
With my younger students, I select repertoire according to their proficiencies while always on the look out for technical/musical "blindspots." With my experienced students, I assist them in playing music that builds on or improves their prior skill-sets, so that their musical learning experiences are continuously expanding.
I strive for having my students sense they have accomplished or learned something new in every lesson.
