My passion for teaching piano stems deeply from my joy for playing and creating music. I believe that understanding rhythm and proper articulation is a fundamental part of understanding music. My goal is to teach students at their own pace, not to overstress them with any anxiety or stress, but to slowly guide them in the right direction through their pieces and learning goals.
I think that every student should feel proud of themselves after a lesson is complete, even if the lesson doesn't go as smoothly, as learning music should not be a stressful environment; I hope that every student can feel proud of their accomplishments and growth in their path to become musicians.
I have attended the following schools, currently studying:
- McMaster University: B.Mus. Cognition Specialization Degree
I have studied piano privately from the age of seven until the age of nineteen (turning twenty). I was trained by classically trained pianists from the Dundas Royal Conservatory of Music. I have almost two years of experience in the McMaster Symphony Orchestra in percussion. My piano professor at McMaster who is classically training me is an international piano competition winner, including the Franz Liszt International Piano Competition. I have been training under him for two years now under exceptionally high standards to perfect my piano playing and musical knowledge. I have also practiced acoustic guitar and percussion instruments such as glockenspiel, drums, and many more since the age of 10, where I practiced privately by myself.
My principal teachers include Dr. Jason Saunders and Dr. Joseph Resendes for their additional studies in counterpoint and analysis.
In my younger years, I have won the director's award in Mathematics at the age of 9.
Privately, I have created several orchestral compositions, from string quintets to guitars to flute ensembles, combined with elements of piano music, which help to create a natural emotional sound where listeners can feel inspired to create their own music. I have over 12 years of experience playing the piano, and I am slowly playing pieces at the ARCT level in piano. My training as a past freelancer piano teacher taught me to always make students feel proud of their accomplishments, and to inspire them to keep learning music! I have also had experience playing the piano at local recitals since the age of 10.
