I am passionate about creativity that also celebrates diverse communities. I also enjoy writing all about what I’ve learned in music and movement, as it is so inspiring!
I believe it’s important to keep active and practice as much as you can. Taking time to reflect and really understand one’s talents and goals is key to feeling confident and being successful.
My musical education is from the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Music, where I graduated with honours. I also studied musical theatre and played leading roles, such as Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz and Mother Abess in The Sound of Music. I’ve trained in piano, violin, ukulele, voice, choir, as well as African drumming and Taiko (Japanese drums).
All my music teachers devoted a lot of time and effort towards developing my talents and skills, especially opening up opportunities where I could flourish!
At music festivals and competitions, like Kiwanis, Arts Richmond Hill Music Festival, Ontario Vocal Jazz Festival, and Ontario Registered Music Teachers’ Association Scholarship Recital, I’ve been given awards, including first place!
I enjoy creating music, such as exercises and original songs, as a recording artist. The Suzuki Method trained me to be independent and well-balanced, such that I’m able to take my playing from practicing to performing with a lot of grace and discipline.
