Music has played a huge role in my life as I started piano from a young age and took on many more instruments as I grew older, including the clarinet, the flute, the saxophone, the guitar, and the string bass. It has taught me more than just the simple skills and techniques but more so cultivating my discipline and dedication. I didn't always enjoy learning the piano and constantly dreaded going to class as well as practicing at home when I was younger because it often just felt tedious and like a chore. However, as I grew to understand the music and discover the feeling behind each piece, music became one of my strongest passions and I was inspired by my instructors to take on more instruments and to work hard to improve my skills. Therefore, I hope to inspire others who are growing in their musical education and play a role in their progress. I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and experiences so that others may equally discover a joy in playing music.
I have studied piano privately from the age of six and started teaching at the age of sixteen. I have successfully completed level 10 in the royal conservatory of music as well as ARCT Harmony and History.
I was taught for many years by a pianist who attended a music university in China long before I was born, and has great amount of teaching experience. She was very strict and definitely taught me the discipline that is needed in order to succeed. I completed RCM level 10 under her and during this time, I often assisted my younger sister, who was also studying piano, in her practices at home. Through that, I was able to gain some insight into helping others and I realized that teaching was something I wanted to pursue.
