Musical enjoyment and happiness are the elements I hope my students will experience in my music lessons. I prioritize student-centered and participatory activities, such as gamified exercises, singing, and duet playing. I love seeing the smiles on my students' faces and hearing the music room filled with joy and laughter! Happiness is one of the highest life values and is unquestionably a universal pursuit for everyone. We seldom question why we seek happiness. I believe music has a unique power to achieve enjoyment, happiness, joy, contentment, and other life values.
I began studying piano from the age of 6 and violin from 13. I have over 7 years of experience as a piano and violin teacher and 4 years as a secondary music teacher. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from the University of York in the United Kingdom, as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Education and a Master of Arts degree in Music from the Hong Kong Baptist University. I am currently a PhD student in Secondary Education (Music) at the University of Alberta.
