Music is a Journey, and not a Destination
There are lots of reasons to learn music, and play an instrument. If not for personal enjoyment, it's also a fun puzzle, that can create an immeasurable experience.
Some people want to just learn their favourite song, and or become the next Bach, as long as you have a dream, It can be realized through music education.
I was born in Ontario, Canada, and I began my professional music career over 35 years ago, playing acoustic guitar and singing covers in pubs, clubs, weddings, and funerals across the country. My range of ability on the guitar reflects the texture and musicality that come from a lifetime of study, writing, teaching, and performing. Now living in Chilliwack, BC, I continue to write, perform, and teach lessons to those looking to find their muse.
Thanks to so many great teachers and mentors, I had already developed strong skills in music theory and harmony before finishing high school. I took a more conservative approach to higher education, studying communications and marketing, all while continuing to teach, perform, and write my own music. With a deep commitment to practice and growth, I also pursued post-secondary music studies, including Solfege, Jazz, and Music History.
Still hoping to win that elusive Juno Award, or even Academy Award!
But you can listen to my music from almost any streaming platform.
For some musicians, recitals and contests. For some musicians the Awards are new listeners.
Inspired by musicians of the past, I have played many festivals, performing and doing clinics on folk stylings and songwriting. Winning 3rd place at SOFGA festival in Hamilton way back in 2002. Many of my students have gone on to playing their own music, and accomplishments.
