**Teaching Philosophy**
As a classically trained pianist with extensive education and performance experience, my teaching philosophy revolves around three core principles: individualized growth, the joy of music-making, and the integration of storytelling in performance.
I believe every student is unique, with their own learning pace, interests, and strengths. My role is to guide them through a tailored approach that nurtures their musical potential while cultivating discipline and creativity. Music is a profound form of expression, and I strive to make every lesson engaging and inspiring, helping students connect deeply with the pieces they play.
Drawing from my background in immersive storytelling and collaborative piano, I encourage students to see music not only as notes on a page but as narratives that evoke emotions and tell stories. This perspective enriches their understanding of the repertoire and develops their interpretative skills.
Ultimately, my goal is to empower students to become confident, expressive musicians who find joy and fulfillment in their journey with piano.
I had my Bachelor of Musi degree at Mannes School of Music, New York. I studied with JY Song at the time. Now I am getting my Master degree from University of Toronto. Both Performing Piano major. My principal teacher is Lydia Wong.
I was professionally classical trained since 7. I gained a lot of chamber music experience since high school, worked with almost every types of instruments, including vocal. My large ensemble background was strengthened me as a pianist. I worked with MACE and Mannes Orchestra back in New York. I also minored in Immersive Storytelling at the time. Explored storytelling and interactive design techniques through virtual, augmented, and mixed reality platforms. Gained expertise in narrative design, sonic immersion, and digital asset creation, integrating traditional performance skills with cutting-edge technologies to craft engaging, multisensory experiences.
