My teaching philosophy is centered on a student-focused approach that prioritizes each learner's unique interests, abilities, and musical preferences. I believe that music education should be an engaging and meaningful experience, tailored to the individual needs of each student. By adapting lessons to their personal musical tastes—whether in rock, blues, pop, classical music, or traditional rhythms—I strive to create an environment that fosters motivation and creativity.
In my teaching, I emphasize both technical proficiency and artistic expression, ensuring that students not only develop strong instrumental skills but also a deep connection to the music they play. My background in pedagogical and didactic innovation has allowed me to implement dynamic and adaptable teaching methods, making learning accessible and enjoyable for students of all levels.
Additionally, I value the power of ensemble performance, encouraging collaboration and musical interaction through group projects and rehearsals. Whether guiding students through their first steps in music or preparing them for performances and competitions, my goal is to nurture their passion for music and help them grow as confident, well-rounded musicians
I have an honours Bachelor's degree in Music from the Conservatory of Tolima, specializing in plucked string instruments. Throughout my career, I have focused on teaching acoustic and electric guitar, bass, and a variety of traditional Colombian plucked string instruments, including the charango, tiple, and cuatro. Additionally, I have obtained a diploma in Pedagogical and Didactic Innovation, which has shaped my student-centered teaching approach. I tailor lessons to each student's interests and preferences, ensuring a meaningful and engaging learning experience.
I had the opportunity to participate in the Mono Núñez Festival as both a composer and director. In this prestigious event dedicated to traditional Colombian music, I showcased my work by leading ensembles and presenting original compositions. My role as a director allowed me to guide musicians in interpreting and performing diverse Colombian musical styles, contributing to the preservation and promotion of our rich cultural heritage.
