Expression is one of the most important parts of being alive. Being trained specifically in storytelling (Musical Theatre), I will strive to bring out not only the notes of the music, but the story and subtext of the piece. I hope that this approach will give the student a reason to love the art & music that they are making.
I believe in helping the student attain their own goals. The time we spend together will solely be focused in serving the student. My promise is that any time spent will at all times bring either growth or joy to the student.
I have an honours Bachelor of Musical Theatre Performance from Sheridan College, which included a Pop Performance component.
Having grown up in a musician's family, my family's hobby was to sightread acappella songs and harmonize with each other. I have plenty of Music Theory knowledge that I imbue in teaching Voice & Guitar.
I have trained professionally as a singer, receiving coaching from many different teachers, resulting in a wide-range of approaches. This helps me in finding the best tailored approach to the individual student.
I have also been playing guitar for more than 15 years, and have played in bands, served in church, and done musician gigs for theatre shows.
I have also received a Dora Award (Toronto-equivalent of an Emmy Award in New York) for Best Ensemble, and Best Performance in 2025 for the show Alligator Pie at SoulPepper Theatre.
In 2021, I receive the Jon Kaplan Award for Excellence that is annually-awarded to a single theatre student within Toronto that shows excellence in their studies and leadership among their peers.
I have participated not only in the Musician's World such as playing with bands, and gigging as a musician, but I have my feet deeply planted in the Musical Theatre scene of Toronto as well. I have done shows at SoulPepper, Thousand Islands Playhouse, Capitol Theatre in Port Hope, Musical Stage Company, and have attended the prestigious Musical Theatre program at Sheridan College.
