As an ARCT-certified Piano teacher with nearly 50 years of teaching experience, I am deeply committed to nurturing the musical potential of every student I encounter. From beginners to Grade 9 level, I welcome students of all ages, starting from age 5 to adults, who have the passion and desire to learn to play the piano. My versatile teaching approach allows students to explore a wide range of musical styles, from cherished classics to the latest pop hits. Whether you aspire to be a proficient accompanist at your church or aim to excel in piano exams, I will support and guide you on your musical journey.
In my teaching philosophy, every student is unique, possessing their own talents and strengths. My role as your teacher is to recognize and celebrate these individual capabilities, helping you develop and refine your skills to their fullest potential. I am also actively involved in the music community, serving on the Executive of the Alberta Registered Music Teachers Association, Edmonton Branch, which further enhances my dedication to providing quality music education.
Together, we will create a supportive and enjoyable learning environment, where you can explore and discover the joy of making music at the piano.

Attend yearly RCM Teacher Seminars
Over the last three years, I have diligently completed the coursework through the Royal Conservatory of Music, achieving the status of a Certified Teaching Specialist at both the Elementary level (Preparatory A to Level 4) and the Intermediate level (Levels 5 to 8). This certification represents my commitment to providing high-quality music education and demonstrates my expertise in teaching students at different stages of their musical journey. I am excited to continue sharing my knowledge and passion for music with my students and helping them thrive in their musical pursuits.
Continuing education is essential to me as a teacher, and I attend the RCM Teachers' seminar annually to enhance my skills and stay informed about the latest teaching tools and methods. Additionally, I keep myself updated by reading their monthly newsletter, which helps me apply new developments to my teaching practice effectively. As a firm believer in leading by example, I prioritize regular practice to maintain and improve my own performance skills. This enables me to demonstrate techniques and skills accurately to my exam students, ensuring they receive the best guidance possible. By constantly honing my teaching abilities and keeping my own musical skills sharp, I am committed to providing a high-quality and enriching learning experience for all my students.
